Potato Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 1/2 c. very warm water
    2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. vegetable shortening
    9 c. flour (more or less if needed)
    1 c. firmly packed unseasoned mashed potatoes
    2 eggs, at room temperature
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter, melted
Preparation
    Sprinkle yeast over 1/2 cup of the very warm water in a small bowl.
    Stir gently to dissolve the yeast.
    Let stand until bubbly, about 10 minutes.
    (It \"proofs\" better with a little bit of sugar added to it.)
