Mom'S Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. or 4 c. fruit
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    peaches, blueberries, gooseberries or whatever you like
Preparation
    Blend butter and sugar well.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt.
    Stir in milk and mix all together.
    Place fruit in bottom of 7 x 11-inch baking dish. Pour batter over fruit, then put about 1 cup sugar over batter and sprinkle water over sugar (like we used to sprinkle clothes) until sugar is wet.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
