Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 qt. sliced cucumbers
2 medium onions, sliced
4 green peppers, diced
1 large sweet pepper, diced
9 c. water
1 c. salt
2 qt. vinegar
1/2 c. mustard seed
9 c. white sugar
3 Tbsp. turmeric
4 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation

Put the first six ingredients together in large crock or glass or stainless bowl and let stand overnight.
Drain and add the vinegar, mustard seed, sugar, turmeric and celery seed.
Bring to a boil, pack into jars and seal.
Makes 14 quarts.
