Mother Jessie'S Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plain corn meal
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. oil or bacon drippings
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Heat grease in 9 x 9-inch pan until very hot.
    While heating pan, mix in buttermilk and egg.
    Pour in hot pan.
    Bake until brown.
