Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 gal. prepared apples
    1 gal. sweet cider
    4 pt. sugar
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pare, core and slice apples.
    Boil sweet cider until it is reduced one-half.
    Add apples to cider while boiling.
    Cook slowly, stirring frequently, so as to prevent burning.
    When it begins to thicken, add sugar and spices.
    Cook until it remains in a smooth mass.
