Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 head lettuce (bite-size pieces)
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    3/4 c. celery, chopped
    1/4 c. bacon, cooked and crumbled
    1/2 pkg. frozen green peas, cooked and drained
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Add all ingredients in layers as listed.
    Do not stir.
    Flavor improves after salad stands several hours or overnight in refrigerator.
