Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick oatmeal
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal and cool.
    Cream shortening and sugars.
    Beat in eggs and stir into cooled oatmeal.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add to batter.
    Stir in nuts (optional). Pour into greased and floured 9 x 7 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
