Orange Dry Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. orange juice and grated rind
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix and shape into loaf.
    Bake in greased bread pan at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    Cool and slice; lay slices on cookie sheet and bake 60 minutes, 30 minutes on each side.
    Watch carefully; they will brown on the underside.
