Rolled Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt and shortening using pastry blender or fork. Make a well in center.
    Add egg and small amount of cold water to make soft dough.
    Roll on well floured surface (1/3 of dough at a time) to 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut in strips and crosswise (about 2-inch squares).
    Drop into boiling broth.
    Cover, turn heat to low.
    Simmer for about 15 minutes.
