Spiced Figs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. figs
    2 c. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    2 lemons, sliced thin
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Remove outer layer of skin from figs; place in stone jar or bowl.
    Boil other ingredients together for 10 minutes and pour over figs.
    Cover and let stand overnight.
    In the morning, drain off liquid and bring to boil.
    Add figs and cook until tender. Pack into hot jars.
    Cover with syrup and seal immediately.
