Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar, divided
1 c. flour
7 Tbsp. cocoa, divided
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. margarine, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/4 c. hot water
Preparation

In medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Blend in milk, butter and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
Pour batter in square pan, 9 x 9 x 2-inch. In small bowl, combine remaining cocoa, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar.
Sprinkle mixture evenly over bottom.
Pour hot water over top; do not stir.
Bake 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Let stand 15 minutes.
Spoon sauce from bottom of pan over top of cake when serving.
