Pippers Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs, separated
    1 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. cake flour (scant)
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon flavor
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks until fluffy and lemon colored.
    Gradually add the boiling water while beating; add and blend well the sugar. Sift flour 3 times with baking powder and add to egg and sugar mixture.
    Beat the egg whites stiff and add 1/2 cup sugar.
    Beat well.
    Fold whites into yolk mixture.
    Add flavorings; turn into ungreased angel food pan and bake 30 minutes at 300\u00b0 and 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Do not turn pan upside down when done.
    Cool on rack before taking out of pan.
    Serve with whipped cream or frost.
