Lentil Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained), chopped
    2 large onions, chopped
    1 c. dry lentils, soaked and drained
    2 carrots, cleaned and chopped
    1/2 c. fresh parsley, chopped
    2 ribs celery, cleaned and chopped
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/4 c. dry sherry (optional)
    1/4 c. pearled barley
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    In stockpot combine all ingredients and simmer 45 minutes or until lentils are tender.
