Mom'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 (6 oz.) bags chocolate chips
    2 sticks butter
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 large can evaporated milk
Preparation
    Toast pecans in oven.
    In large pot, combine sugar and milk. Stir on burner until rolling boil.
    Boil for 6 minutes.
    Take off burner and stir in remaining ingredients until mixed well; mixture will start to thicken.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan or cookie sheet and let set for exactly 6 hours (in or out of fridge) before cutting.
    Makes 5 pounds of fudge.
