Black Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa

Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar together.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Separately blend the flour, salt, soda and baking powder together.
Add 1 cup of hot water to cocoa.
Mix together the flour mixture and egg mixture, alternating adding hot water and cocoa.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
