Mother'S Raisin Filled Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. butter
milk or sour milk*
flour (enough to make soft dough)
raisins
1 tsp. vanilla to taste
sugar to taste
cornstarch

Preparation

*Sour milk equals 1 cup milk plus 1 tablespoon vinegar.
