Blonde Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar (1 lb.)
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. nuts
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Melt shortening in large saucepan.
    Blend in brown sugar. Cool 10 minutes.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time and add vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add gradually to other mixture and mix well.
    Add chocolate chips and nuts.
    Spread evenly in a 15 x 10-inch pan.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
