Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Melt caramels, butter and milk in a double boiler, set aside.
Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
Pour half the batter into a greased and floured oblong pan.
Bake 15 minutes.
Remove cake from oven and pour caramel mixture over top. Next sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel layer.
Now pour rest of cake batter on top and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 325\u00b0.
Cool cake 20 minutes before serving.
Spoon a generous amount of Cool Whip on top when serving.
