Harvard Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 oz.) can LeSueur whole beets
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 c. beet juice from can
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    4 to 5 whole cloves
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Add flour and blend.
    Add beet juice.
    Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cloves.
    Stir until sugar dissolves.
    Add drained beets and heat thoroughly.
