Asparagus Au Gratin - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (No. 2) can green asparagus, drained
4 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
5 slices bread, dried and broken into crumbs
14 stuffed olives, diced
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. liquid (milk and asparagus liquid)
2 hard-cooked eggs, diced
Preparation

Make a sauce by blending 3 tablespoons melted butter, flour, salt and pepper; add liquid and cook over low flame, stirring occasionally, until thick and smooth. Remove from fire; add olives and eggs. Toss bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon melted butter together. Arrange asparagus, buttered crumbs and white sauce mixture in layers in buttered baking dish, having top layer of the crumbs. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
