Chocolate Chip Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 pkg. chocolate chips (6 oz.)
Preparation
    Sift the first four ingredients.
    Add the nuts.
    Melt margarine, remove from heat and mix with brown sugar.
    Add 1 tablespoon hot water.
    Stir in egg and vanilla.
    Add flour mixture, a small amount at a time.
    Spread in a greased 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes, or 30 to 35 minutes for doubled recipe (use 13 x 9-inch pan).
