Oven Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 lb. beef, cut in cubes
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 (10 oz.) cans tomato soup
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. basil
4 medium potatoes, pared and cubed
4 carrots, cut in pieces
1/2 c. red wine or water
Preparation

Combine flour, salt and dash of pepper; coat meat cubes. Brown in hot shortening in Dutch oven.
Add soup, 2 1/2 cups water, onion and basil.
