Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 (2 layer) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 1/3 c. water
3 eggs
3/4 c. soft butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Melt caramels with evaporated milk in microwave.
Combine cake mix, water, butter and eggs.
Blend on low speed for 2 minutes. Pour half the batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until cake puffs up and is gooey. Pour melted caramels over partially baked layer to within 1/2-inch of edges.
Sprinkle chips and pecans over caramels.
Pour remaining batter over all and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched (may take 40 minutes).
Cool in pan.
Cut in squares.
Ice, if desired (creamy fudge).
