Mother'S Homemade Mayonnaise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg yolk
    1 c. Wesson oil
    juice of lemon
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
    pinch of sugar
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
Preparation
    Beat egg yolk, then add Wesson oil, a few drops at a time, beating until mixture begins to thicken.
    Then add oil more rapidly alternating with the lemon juice.
    Add remaining ingredients while beating.
    Pour into a covered jar.
    Refrigerate. Makes about 1/2 pint.
    Keep refrigerated.
