Hot Sauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
5 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda, mixed with 1 Tbsp. hot water
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg is added.
Mix cocoa and sifted flour. Add alternately with buttermilk.
Then add vanilla.
Last beat in soda mixture.
Grease three 9-inch cake pans and add just enough batter to cover bottom of pan.
Layers should be thin.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven.
This makes 6 thin layers.
