Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 sq. bitter chocolate
1 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
dash of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Melt chocolate and shortening.
Cool slightly.
Beat the eggs until light and creamy.
Add the sugar and mix thoroughly.
Add vanilla.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to eggs and sugar.
Stir in the chocolate and pecans.
Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan (greased and floured).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
Do not overbake.
While still warm, cut into bars.
