Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. molasses
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and molasses.
    Beat well. Add flour sifted with salt, soda, and spices.
    Mix well.
    Chill in refrigerator.
    This dough is soft, and must be thoroughly chilled to shape (overnight works well).
    Form into small balls.
    Roll in sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 10 minutes.
