Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. fresh oysters
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 gal. milk, scalded
    2 Tbsp. butter
    chopped mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oysters in their liquor; add butter, seasonings and when edges of oysters begin to curl, add milk.
    Bring just to boiling, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; cut butter into 6 pieces. Place in heated soup bowls.
    Pour over soup and sprinkle with more pepper.
    A few chopped mushrooms may be added if desired.
