Swedish Pecans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. unsalted pecan halves
    1 c. sugar
    1 dash salt
    1 stick butter
    2 slightly beaten egg whites
Preparation
    Toast nuts in slow oven (325\u00b0) until light brown.
    (Do not overtoast.)
    Fold sugar and salt into slightly beaten egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.
    Fold nuts into mixture.
    Melt butter in a 15 x 10 x 2-inch pan.
    Spread mixture over butter. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Stir often until there is no more butter.
