Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar (1 pkg.)
    3 eggs
    1 c. nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Melt shortening. Add brown sugar.
    Stir until well mixed.
    Allow to cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Add dry ingredients, then nuts and chocolate chips.
    Bake in greased pan (10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch) at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
