Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry bread cubes (more than 2 c.; will have to experiment)
    4 c. milk, scalded
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    4 slightly beaten eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    nutmeg (to sprinkle on top)
Preparation
    Soak bread in milk five minutes; add butter, salt and sugar. Pour slowly over eggs; add vanilla and mix well.
    Pour into greased baking dish.
    Bake in pan of hot water in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 until firm, about 50 minutes.
    One-half cup of raisins may be used if desired.
    It may be served warm with Lemon Sauce if desired. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
