Twin Angel Food Party Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Duncan Hines angel food cake mix
    3 c. milk
    1 (16 oz.) container frozen nondairy whipped topping, thawed and divided
    2 (4 serving size) pkg. chocolate instant pudding mix
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Prepare, bake and cool cake following package directions.
    Cut cake in half horizontally with serrated knife.
    Place on serving plates with cut sides up.
    Cut around cake 1 1/2-inches from outer edge, down 3/4-inch and through to center.
    Gently pull out cut cake 1 1/2-inches wide rim.
    Fill center hole with removed cake. Repeat for second half.
