Raisin Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. water
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs (or equal egg substitute)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. rolled oats
Preparation
    Cook raisins and water until about 5 tablespoons liquid remains.
    Drain, reserving liquid.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Beat together shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Stir in cooled liquid and vanilla.
    Sift together and stir in flour, soda and salt.
    Stir in oats and cooked raisins.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
