German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 lb. bacon, diced
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. white pepper
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 egg
    3/4 qt. sliced, hot, cooked potatoes
Preparation
    Fry bacon until delicately brown (about 5 minutes); if very fat, drain, reserving at least 1/4 cup in skillet.
    Add onion and saute about 3 minutes.
    Add flour, sugar and seasonings and blend well.
    Add vinegar and water gradually and cook until thickened (about 5 minutes), stirring constantly.
    Pour beaten egg over hot potatoes, coating potatoes well.
    Add hot vinegar mixture and toss gently with a fork.
