Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 oz. red food coloring
Preparation
    Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make paste of food coloring and cocoa. Combine salt with vanilla and add to buttermilk.
    Add alternately with flour to creamed mixture.
    Mix soda with vinegar and fold into batter mixture.
    Use 3 pans, wax paper lined.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or less.
