Corned Beef Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) corned beef brisket
    1 onion, chopped
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    2 bay leaves
    6 small potatoes, pared
    6 small carrots, pared
    6 cabbage wedges (1 medium head)
Preparation
    Place corned beef in Dutch oven barely covered with hot water. Add onion, garlic and bay leaves.
    Cover, simmer about 3 hours or until tender.
    Remove meat from liquid and add potatoes and carrots.
    Cover and bring to a boil.
    Cook 10 minutes.
    Add cabbage and cook 20 minutes.
    Carve meat across the grain, making thin slices.
    Serves 6.
