Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken, skinned
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 egg, slightly beaten, or egg substitute
Preparation
    In a 4-quart saucepan, place chicken with water to cover; cover.
    Cook over medium heat until tender.
    Remove chicken, bone and cut into bite size pieces.
    Chill broth until fat congeals on top; remove fat.
