Ma Saya'S Marinara Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (35 oz.) can of Italian style tomatoes; crushed or whole
crushed red pepper
4 garlic cloves, chopped
fresh basil, finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste
2/3 c. olive oil
Preparation

Place tomatoes into a saucepan.
Let the tomatoes simmer on medium heat with the lid on.
Stir frequently.
They should simmer for about 1/2 hour.
Most of the tomato juice should evaporate. If you are using whole tomatoes, make sure to crush them.
Chop garlic and basil into small pieces and place them into the pan. Add salt, pepper and crushed red pepper to your taste.
Finally, add the olive oil and let it all simmer uncovered on low heat for another 15 minutes.
Stir occasionally; place tomato sauce on fresh penne pasta.
