Chinese Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak
    1/4 c. oil
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    3 large green peppers, sliced
    2 large onions, thinly sliced
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. clear beef broth
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. cold water
    4 green scallions, cut in 1-inch pieces
Preparation
    Put meat in freezer for at least 1 hour; it will be easier to slice.
    Cut in 1/8-inch slices.
    Heat oil.
    Add garlic, salt, pepper and ginger.
    Saute until garlic is golden brown.
    Add steak and brown.
    Remove.
    Add onions and green pepper.
    Cook about 3 minutes.
    Return steak to pan.
    Add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon and chestnuts.
    Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to pan.
    It will thicken.
    Add green onions.
    Simmer about 2 minutes.
    Serve over rice.
