Hearty Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. chuck roast cut up
    2 large red onions, chopped
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 c. raisins
    1 small cabbage, shredded
    32 oz. tomatoes
    1 small can of sauerkraut
    juice of half a lemon
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In heavy sauce pan or Dutch oven, brown meat and onions in oil over medium heat.
    Add remaining ingredients:
    stir well.
    Turn heat to low, cover and simmer soup for 2 to 3 hours.
    Do not add any water!
