Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco (not oil)
    1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
    1 (1 lb.) box 10x sugar, sifted
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    8 drops oil of peppermint
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    If not moist enough, use about 1 tablespoon hot water or more.
    Knead until smooth.
    After rolling out, let set a minute, then cut.
    Makes about 100 if you decorate, 150 to 175 undecorated.
    To color, add coloring before you knead. Place in cool, dry room.
