Foolproof Caramel Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/3 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. corn syrup or 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. Crisco or other shortening
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
2 Tbsp. hot milk
Preparation

Boil together brown sugar, syrup or cream of tartar and 1/3 cup milk until soft ball forms when dropped in cold water.
Blend Crisco with confectioners sugar and hot milk.
Pour hot syrup over confectioners sugar mixture.
Beat to a spreading consistency.
