Cabbage Kielbasa Soup - cooking recipe

1/2 lb. kielbasa, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 small head cabbage, coarsely chopped
1 medium onion, sliced
4 carrots, thinly sliced
2 1/2 qt. chicken broth
Preparation

In Dutch oven, brown kielbasa slices.
Drain.
Reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
Set sausages aside.
Add onion and cabbage to drippings.
Cook until lightly browned (7 minutes). Add carrots and chicken broth.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
Add sausages.
Heat thoroughly.
