Almond Crescents - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. very finely chopped blanched almonds
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Add almonds with salt to the creamed mixture.
    Work in the flour.
    Chill dough thoroughly. Pinch off pieces of dough and roll in the palm of your hands, then pull ends around to form crescents.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 15 minutes in slow oven at 325\u00b0.
    Let them cool a minute on the pans to crisp up.
    While still warm, lift off pans and roll in sifted confectioners sugar and cool on racks.
    This makes about 30 cookies.
