Great Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. Italian sausage
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 c. sliced mushrooms
    1 Tbsp. minced garlic
    4 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    15 oz. can tomato puree
    12 oz. can tomato paste
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Remove casings on sausage.
    In a large skillet, brown and crumble ground beef and sausage until done.
    Remove from skillet with slotted spoon and put in large stock pot or two large saucepans.
    Add onion and mushrooms to grease in skillet and cook until slightly limp.
    Remove onions and mushrooms with slotted spoon and add to beef and sausage.
    Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix.
    Bring to boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer on low heat for 3 hours.
    Makes about 1 gallon.
    Freeze some for later.
