Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 lb cucumbers
    1 gal apple cider vinegar
    1/2 box alum
    10 lb sugar
    2 tbsp pickling spices; tied up in cloth
Preparation
    In 3 quart churn; soak cucumbers in water for 10 days. Then drain and slice. Soak overnight in alum water. Rinse off the alum. Soak overnight in pure vinegar. Then take out of vinegar, Don't rinse! Then layer cucumbers and sugar in churn and put spices in center. You can stir every once in a while to mix the spices.
