Easy Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. black molasses
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix together soft shortening, sugar and egg.
    Blend in molasses and boiling water.
    Sift together flour, soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
    Stir into liquid.
    Pour into 9-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Cut into 3-inch squares. Makes 9 servings.
