Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. crushed strawberries
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    few drops red food coloring
    1 baked pie shell
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Wash and hull berries; use 1/2 cup berries to mash.
    Mix mashed berries and remaining ingredients in small saucepan. Slowly bring to boil, stirring constantly.
    When thickened, remove from stove.
    Set pan in ice water to cool down.
    Arrange berries in baked crust; spoon sauce over berries.
    Refrigerate pie approximately an hour before serving.
    Top with Cool Whip.
