Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten separately
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation

Beat yolks with sugar.
Add water and flavorings.
Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture.
Beat well 5 minutes.
Fold in well beaten egg whites.
Mix 3 tablespoons butter with 1 cup brown sugar and add pineapple.
Put pineapple mixture in the bottom of the pan.
Put batter in an 8-inch square pan.
Bake 40 minutes in a moderate oven.
The cake alone (without pineapple mixture) can be used for shortcake.
Very good.
