German Beef Supper - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
    1/2 medium onion, sliced
    1/2 c. water
    2 cloves garlic
    1 small bay leaf
    1/4 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
    2 Tbsp. Crisco
    4 c. medium egg noodles, cooked and drained
    1 apple, shredded
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    1/2 carrot, shredded
    1/3 c. red wine
    1 tsp. salt
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    4 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Brown beef in hot Crisco. Add apple, carrot, onion, water, wine, salt, garlic, bouillon, bay leaf and thyme. Combine cornstarch and cold water. Add to beef mixture. Cook and stir until thickened. Stir in Kitchen Bouquet. Serve over the egg noodles. Delicious served with a salad.
